Creating a configurator
A configurator is a record of its own, not a product field. It is maintained in one place and then assigned to as many products as you like.
Three ways from the list
Create template
A configurator that does not sell but passes things on. It cannot be assigned to a product.
Whether something is a template is decided when creating it. This option cannot be changed later.
Create configurator from template
The new configurator inherits options and streams from the template.
Inherited streams cannot be edited in the child - they are changed in the template and take effect everywhere.
The four tabs
Configurator
Name, template, price in listing, position and the basic options.
Rebate
A percentage for the combination, excluding the parent product and the threshold.
Streams
The choice groups, their order and their source. From here you enter the stream editor.
Products
Which products display this configurator.
The assignment can only be maintained in the default language of the system.
Settings on the Configurator tab
Name
The name of the configurator is only used for internal purposes.
Price in listing
Which price appears in the category.
- from price - cheapest price
- fixed price - pre-selected items
If the price of the preselected items is lower than the cheapest price, the cheapest one is always shown.
Position
Where the configurator appears within the product.
- Below the image, above the description (full width)
- Below the image, below the description (full width)
- Below the price, above the “shopping cart” button (right column)
- Below the price, below the “shopping cart” button (right column)
Streams collapsable
Keeps only one group open at a time. With many groups this keeps the page readable.
Display summary
Shows above the configurator what is currently selected.
Extend summary
Adds images and prices to the summary.
Free product
The parent product is free of charge, only the components are paid for.
Remove product information of the father
Hides the description and ratings of the parent product on the product page.

Is Configurator
The switch on the product’s “Configurator” tab. Without it, nothing happens.
Configurator
Which configurator is displayed for this product.
Optional Description
A text shown above the configurator - different per product.
Components
Settings that concern a product as part of a configuration, such as the percentage surcharge.
The plugin stores this data in the additional fields of products, so it can be used in dynamic product groups and in imports and exports.
Frequently asked questions
Can one configurator sit on several products?
Yes. The Products tab lists every product displaying this configurator. The configurator itself is still maintained only once.
What do I need templates for?
When several configurators should contain the same groups. Change the template and every configurator inheriting from it changes too.
Why can I not maintain the product assignment in a second language?
Because the assignment itself is not translated. It can only be edited in the default language of the system; what is translatable is the title and description of the streams.
